Does it cost anything to donate on 234Give?

No.  Donating on 234Give is always without charge to you as the donor.

 

Is my donation safe and secure?

Yes, we take data security very seriously at 234Give.  We partner with Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc to securely process your donations.  Your personal information is vigorously protected. For more information, please read our Privacy Policy. 234Give will not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We also provide an anonymous donation option, if you prefer not to share your contact information.

 

Do I need to have an account with 234Give to donate?

No, you do not need to sign up for an account in order to make a donation.

 

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes, your donation may be tax-deductible within the guidelines of the Nigerian tax laws.

 

Is there a minimum donation amount?

No.  You may choose to donate any amount that you want

 

How and when does my donation get distributed to my specified beneficiary?

234Give batches its distribution to Charities and Causes each month and makes a payment on or around the 15th of the following month. For example, if you made a donation on November 26 through 234Give, the qualified nonprofit grantee / recipient would receive the funds on or around December 15.

 

What are the methods of payment?

We try to be flexible, so we currently accept debit and credit cards, cheques, Mobile Money and bank transfers.

 

Can we make a cash donation at your office?

No.  For transparency purposes, we do not accept cash donations at our offices.

 

I just tried to make a donation and my credit card was rejected. Why?

In order for 234Give to protect the donations made on our site, we have strong security measures in place to guard against fraudulent transactions. Here are some common reasons that we might not have been able to process your donation:

The expiration date entered has either passed or does not match what your bank has on record.

Your bank has declined the charge.

Unfortunately, we are not able to reattempt a transaction once it has been declined. We encourage you to submit your donation again, double-checking that your card details are correct. If you continue to experience problems donating, please let us know, and we’d be happy to help!

Is there any way to keep track of my donations?

Yes! When you give through 234Give, we’ll ask you to share a few pieces of information with us, like your name and email address and a profile will be created for you on Stanbic IBTC WebPay. This profile will allow you to keep track of your giving history. Additionally, we’ll send you a receipt for every donation you make to 234Give.

 

Can people overseas donate?

Donations can be made from anywhere in the world. The only requirement is a debit or credit card. It’s also worth remembering that your bank or credit card company may charge extra fees for international transactions, so you may wish to contact them before donating to find out.

 

How do I make an anonymous donation?

During the final step of the donation process, you’ll have the opportunity to make your donation anonymous. You can hide the amount and/or remove your name from the public image. Although the page owner will be made aware of your name and how much you’ve sponsored them, this information will not display on the public page.

 

How am I sure that the Charities are genuine?

All the Charities listed on our website are duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission.  All Charities are made to affirm a Positive Action Statement  which requires them to maintain a high level of ethical standards and corporate governance in their operations.

 

What about Causes?

While the Causes listed on the website are humanitarian in nature, we urge all donors to exercise reasonable care when giving to Causes.

 

I’ve donated to the wrong Charity or Cause. What should I do?

Unfortunately, we would not be able to transfer this donation to the correct page or refund it without permission from the Charity or Cause.

Donations are automatically transferred to the charity a page has been set up for. Therefore, you would need to make a new donation to the correct person and the charity they are fundraising for.

For the original donation to be refunded, we would need permission from the charity you have accidentally donated to. Please get in touch with the Charity or Cause the donation has been made to and explain the situation. If they’re happy for us to refund the donation, please ask them to drop us an email to let us know

How do I create a 234Give account?

You can create a user account for free by completing our simple sign up form.

 

I created an account but don’t remember my password. How can I retrieve a new one?

Please use our password reset link. Be sure to enter the email address you used to create your 234Give account.  Please check your spam folder if the email does not appear in your inbox.

 

How do I edit my personal information?

You can view or edit your personal information by logging-in to your account

 

Is my personal information safe?

How do I create a Fundraising Page to support a Charity or Cause?

You can create a Fundraising Page for free by completing our simple form. Alternatively, you can visit the Page of any Charity or Cause listed on 234Give and click “Fundraise” to start the page creation process. Please note that in order to create a Fundraising Page you will be prompted to sign into your 234Give user account, or create one if you don’t already have an account.

 

Does it cost anything to have a Fundraising Page on 234Give?

No, there are no set-up or subscription fees associated with a Fundraising Page, and it only takes a few minutes to get started.

 

Do I need to handle any of the funds to ensure it gets to the Charity or Fundraiser that I have selected?

No, we will handle the credit card processing, receipting, and disbursement for you! We do encourage you to thank donors as they make contributions through your Fundraising Page.

 

Who can I raise money for on 234Give?

You can raise money for any the Charities and Causes that are registered on 234Give.

Search for your Cause/Charity by name or keyword to begin fundraising

To keep the site secure, the Charity or Cause must be subscribed before you can begin raising money. If your Charity or Cause isn’t listed, you can nominate them to join.
